Porcelain Crowns
A porcelain crown is a piece of porcelain that has been molded and created to be in the shape of a tooth. It is used as a dental “cap” that covers an existing tooth.
A porcelain crown may be used for a variety of reasons including:
To protect a tooth that has undergone root canal therapy
To protect a tooth that has a large cavity which has not yet reached the nerve
To restore the appearance of a broken or worn down tooth
To cover a dental implant placed where a tooth was missing
